Is November really almost over? I can't believe it! I apologize for my lack of communication this month. It has been a very busy time.

We spent the month learning about the past. We read several story books about Laura Engels Wilder. I told the kids about the Little House on the Prairie television show. Some have seen it, some haven't. See if you can find it, I think it's on, if not daily, fairly frequently.

We also discussed the first Thanksgiving and really enjoyed our feast with Kindergarten. (pics and video coming soon!) We talked about family traditions and the Macy's T-giving Day Parade came up. Look for it Thanksgiving morning (9 or 10 am, I'm not sure what time).

I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Count your blessings!

Jarod had a blast learning about Laura Ingles Wilder. "Little House on the Prairie" has been a favorite television show for me since I was a little girl. I read the Little House book series starting in the third grade; and last summer, Jarod and I spent our lunch hour watching "Little House on the Prairie" on the Hallmark Channel. Max bought me the complete series (I believe the show ran for more than 10 years) on DVD, so I picked a few episodes that I thought Jarod would like, and he and I would watch those in the evenings. He was excited to tell me that the class had been learning about Laura Ingles Wilder, the Little House books, and pioneer life.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I hope that you did, too. Jarod was, however, shocked to learn that we would only have a real "Thanksgiving" on one day, instead of the three-day celebration that was shared by early settlers. (:
